Words on Canvas

A poem

That is not too difficult

To read

Or to write

Comes straight from the bow

To the soul

And slices the matter cleanly

Like Wilhelm Tell’s arrow

Releasing

A color wash

Of instant recognition

That sweeps down

With a gasp of joy

Through every fibre of our body

Painting moist brush strokes

On our naked canvas

Seeping into us

Till all our organs

Glow with light
