Moon Woman
She made a ritual of stars
to wear on Sabbath
baked loaves lightly scented
with a sprinkling of finest moon dust
and placed on the dusky tablecloth
seven crystal goblets
one for each of her six children
spaced sequentially as the planets
and a larger one for her master, the Sun
filled overflowing with stellar wine
Then, shedding her garments one-by-one
she immersed herself in the source of life
allowed the sacred words to close in
over her silken tresses flowing in sky water
and donning an embroidered constellation
and a scarf of comets for her still damp hair
she turned to greet the week
Queen of the heavens
shining, radiant
