I’m a sucker for tears, melt in them
bend to them and beckon
a child inside, I’m unwrapped
each chocolate’s colored foil
hiding a soft center

 

Don’t cry, look
I’ll surround you with cotton candy
hug you, pull a clown’s face
give you a funny nose kiss
until the giggle smiles back
into your eyes, tears forgotten

 

Like rain on a warm summer day
a bee, kissing from child to child
