Candle Children
Sabbath candles moonflowers of the sixth night
bathe watching families in their light
glow through the gaps between mothers raised palms
open their eyes to soft blessings and psalms
and embrace all childrens homes in their arms
Lovers candles wildflowers of the seventh night
cast pastel hued shadows that paint with delight
bathe smooth bodies with rose tinted balms
trace patchouli and yleng yleng charms
over mingling tongues breasts legs and arms
Child flowers born on sabbath eves
bring messages from life on their leaves
child blossom buds opening in love candle gleams
paint pictures write poetry from their dreams
and show us that life’s much more than it seems
