Good morning, seven o’ clock, the news:

the war continues, a child was killed

by a hit-and-run driver

droughts, hurricanes, floods, aids,

that is the end of the news

 

Good morning, five past seven, music:

Vivaldi, Rossini, Kabalevsky

played by the children’s orchestra

andante, allegro, adagio, minuetto

 

At eleven poetry, at twelve the news

 

Darling could you turn that down a little;

on your way back home could you

please pick up a couple of six packs

and some antacid from the pharmacy

 

Oh and a video, I’d like to watch a movie

tonight, I know the wrestling is on but

maybe we could have some Eddie Murphy
