Another Day
She folds the sleeves,
the cuffs,
inserts cardboard,
tissue paper
pins and folds
neat into cellophane
and again
and next, again
rubs eyes
stretches back
uncramps legs
and then she’s off
to bus/walk
bread and butter
fish and chips
dirty dishes
hungry cats
hiss of ironing
fold the sleeves
and again
and next, again
finally
she unwinds
does the crossword
writes a poem
another day
and next, again
