Free Flying Horse

A Capital Steed came dashing down the Beach

With flecks of Sunlight spittling from his Jaw

Bathers fled, scattering like Shells and Sand

We shouted Pegasus and hoped for More

But Wild and Empty lay the Wastes

Of Waves and Breakers, no Equinity

Could be discerned behind him

And we went back to deepening our Suntans

Licking our Ice Creams, yet those of Us

To whom Poetry runs in our Blood

Slept not that Night as Flying Mane

And Pounding Hooves disturbed Tranquility

And sounds of Galloping

Filled our Feverish Dreams
